Our Vision
ReconcileEC is to bring together people from different cultures and spheres to heartily unite by way of a three month initiative in 2018. It involves people from all the provinces of South Africa with an initial focus on the colorful Eastern Cape and from there will spread across our beautiful country.
The act of reconciliation means:
“To reconcile” is to reunite, restore friendly relations between, bring (back) together (again), restore harmony between, make peace between, resolve differences between, appease, propitiate, resolve, mend, remedy, heal, cure, rectify.
The 7 spheres of influence
ReconcileEC aims to involve all provinces in SA but will also engage with all major spheres of influence or mountains of influence. Society in general is made up of seven dominant spheres, each fulfilling a unique role in bringing about unity through reconciliation and they are as follow:
Economy & Business, Education, Family & Community, Government & Politics, Media & Communication, Religion, Sport, Arts & Entertainment
Origin and background
Reconciliation has been an ongoing movement for several decades and now takes a prominent front seat again as the country cries out for a nation to flourish through unity. The ReconcileEC initiative aims to unlock and rejuvenate old and new movements to take hands with one purpose in mind and that is to establish widespread reconciliation and unity on a national scale, during 2018. ReconcileEC is founded and based on Christian values and represents a country comprising of a Christian professing majority.
ReconcileEC mission:
- To involve as many South Africans as possible and stir energy toward widespread reconciliation in the country.
- To involve individuals and organisations from as many towns and suburbs from each of the provinces in SA to enable agreement and harmony in their sphere of influence, be it at home or in business, through music or creativity.
- Mobilize in person meetings and sincere sharing of stories and life events to bring about reconciliation.
- Encourage the people of South Africa to drive their bakkies, cars, buses and bikes to visit Eastern Cape during the three month outreach in 2018.
- Create the platforms needed for individuals and other initiatives who share the heart of the vision to connect and collaborate towards a united nation.
- Involve leaders, role models and the general public to ensure a footprint from all levels of society.
